If you're on Pinterest then I'm sure you've seen the salad in a jar thing where supposedly the salad stays fresh for up to 10 days. I decided today I was going to test it out. It's easy and healthy. It didn't take me too long to get everything prepped, washed, cut and into the jars either.
So, because everything is better with pictures. Here you go. My lunch for the next 6 days and dinner tonight.

I'll report back in a few days and let you know if the salad holds. (Also, there is NOT dressing in these jars.)

Ooh I really LIKE this idea!! I hope it works out. :)
ReplyDeletePlus it seems like you are using veggies that won't get too soggy anyway. I think I could totally do this on a Sunday night for our dinners through the week. I am going to go get some more mason jars at the grocery store today. Stock up. I saw another blogger just pops berries in them and freezes them like that so ziploc baggies aren't falling all over the place. I am very impressed with this and don't know why I never tried it before. I can't wait to see how it goes!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea, I have seen a few different people I know make it. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to have to try this... my lunches have been horrible lately because I never have time in the mornings
ReplyDeleteHow have they worked out? Curious minds want to know! DH is trying to eat more veggies and this would be great for when he goes back to work!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I'm so interested to hear how they worked out. What an awesome way to eat healthier, because I too cannot make myself take the time to pull the salad out of the bag!
